In April 2023, we provided items and stuffed activity bags benefitting Meta House.

Meta House provides gender-specific treatment for women experiencing substance abuse. Their approach is trauma-informed and family-centered. In 2022, they served 317 women and 190 children across their continuum of care. They also focus on families, supporting the healthy development of children by offering parenting coaching and strengthening family bonds. Learn More Here

Annually EWI of Milwaukee makes fleece blankets for local nonprofits. Two most recent recipients are Pathfinders and the Women’s Shelter at Community Advocates.

December 2023: EWI of Milwaukee participated in their annual Toys for Tots toy and monetary contribution drive. Additionally, a team of ladies from the chapter often volunteer every year at the Salvation Army, sorting and packing toys to go home to families in Milwaukee.

During the 2022 Campaign, Toys for Tots distributed over 24.3 million toys, books, and games to over 9.9 million less fortunate children.

They unite members of local communities in a common cause each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and contribute to better communities in the future.

Annually, we hold book drives for Next Door Foundation school supply drives for Milwaukee Public Schools.

EWI of Milwaukee assembled 224 Math and reading flashcard packets.

Northwestern Mutual, in partnership with United Way teamed up with community volunteers to assemble and pack 12,000 sets of reading and math flash cards for local students.

Volunteers tore apart the cards, organized the decks and wrote a notes of encouragement to both the students and parents. The cards were distributed to students and families throughout the community.

Our Community Outreach activities vary from year to year. Activities benefiting the Greater Milwaukee area includes but not limited to:

  • Next Door- Assembled 500+ knapsacks with hygiene products and books for young learners. Volunteer reading and book drives.

  • YWCA SEW- Professional clothing drive for the Women’s Professional Image Program

  • Hebron House (Waukesha) - Soup Drive

  • Pathfinders – Constructed and donated blankets for homeless teens

  • Habitat for Humanity – Helped to build a home

 
  • Toys for Tots –Yearly toy drive. Longest standing donor in Milwaukee

  • Giving Tree – Donations of holiday gifts for nonprofit organizations

  • Milwaukee Achiever – Literacy program supply drive

  • Wrap Party – Wrapped holiday gifts for disadvantaged children

  • Meta House – Constructed and donated blankets for children living with their parents at Meta House

  • Box Tops for Education – Collection of box top coupons to be used for MPS school(s)

  • Stockings for Soldiers – Collection of items and stockings donated to the local VA Hospital

  • United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties - Stuffed brown bags with dental hygiene products for families in need

  • Annual Milwaukee Brewers Mini Marathon - Aid Station volunteers

  • Tree Planting with Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful (KGMB) in honor of EWI of Milwaukee Chapter President, Jennifer DeLaura.
